Sixth grade can be a somewhat awkward year for handing out Valentines. Do you still give Valentines to the whole class? Just a few of your closest friends? Well, this student hit it right on the head (or the nose) with these Valentines! He sneakily passed out one nose pencil sharpener to each of his classmates and had us all laughing when we found them! Functional and hilarious!

When you teach middle school, Valentine's Day celebrations are a little different, but over the years, I’ve still had some cute and hilarious gestures. Last year, a sweet boy offered me the top half of his Oreo. He assured me he hadn’t licked it, and to prove it, he showed me that he was still holding the frosting side!

A few years ago, I started working as an after-school instructor at the school I currently work for. At the time, I had a kindergarten group which I absolutely LOVED! On Valentine’s Day, some of my students gave me a card or a small gift. The one that stood out to me was a small valentine. I opened it, and it was addressed, "to my second favorite teacher". This has stayed with me because I tried really hard to have a positive relationship with this student. Not only did this tell me I was doing something right, but it also made me giggle a little due to the bluntness of it -- he let me know I wasn't his favorite, but I was definitely Top 2. I love the blunt honesty from kindergarteners.
