Pencil and Shoelace DIY

Make these adorably crafted pencils in just a few easy steps!

Here's what you'll need:

Yoobi Shoelaces

Yoobi Number 2 pencils

Yoobi Heart Shaped Push pins in either Pink or Aqua

Hand Gesture Erasers (Available at Yoobi's Retail store in Westfield Mall, Santa Anita)

One Glue Stick

A pair of Yoobi Scissors

Step 1: Take one shoelace, and cut both plastic ends off either side

Step 2: Dab a little glue around the end of your pencil (not including the pre-shaved portion)

Step 3: Take your shoelace and begin wrapping it around the pencil. Make sure the shoelace overlaps as your wrap it around the pencil. (This will secure it and keep it from moving.) No additional glue will be necessary.

Step 4: As you get to the end of the pencil, wrap the remaining shoelace around itself below the eraser and the silver piece that secures it. There should be about 2-3 layers on top of each other at this point.

Step 5: Grab a push pin and secure the shoelace in position by pushing the pin through the stacked layers of shoelace.

Step 6: Add your hand gesture eraser to the top!
