DIY: Yoobi Toucan Puppet

Bring the rainforest to life in your very own home! Create a colorful, feathery friend that will take flight with your favorite Yoobi products. 

 

Follow the seven easy steps below to make your day tropical!

  

What You’ll Need:

  • Scissors 
  • Toilet paper roll
  • Markers (multicolor)                                 
  • Glue
  • Googly eyes

 

 

Step 1: Cut a small cylinder from a toilet paper roll 2'' inches wide to create the head of the puppet.

 

Step 2: Print and cut (or draw) the four templates below that will make your Toucan’s beak, body and tail.

 

 

Step 3: Use markers to personalize the head, beak, tail and body--the more color the better! (we used the Yoobi Color Layer Markers)

  

Step 4: Roll the rectangle at the top of the body into a ring and glue the ring to the bottom of the head. This is where your fingers will go!

 

Step 5: Next, glue the tail to the underside of the body.

 

Step 6: Fold the beak along the dotted lines and glue both pieces to the head. The larger piece will go on top and the smaller on the bottom.

 

Step 7: Glue a pair of googly eyes to the head. Now it’s time to come to life and take flight!
