Inspire Your Monday Motivation with a Spruced-Up Workspace!
When was the last time you put your creative thinking hat on in your workspace? Kick the idea that chalk is JUST for kids because being a grown-up should be fun too! Set your day up for success with two fun DIY chalk ideas that also add some flair to your home or office space.
Things You’ll Need:
- Lots of colorful chalk
- A chalkboard of your choice
- For extra pizazz, try glow in the dark chalk!
DIY Chalk Calendar
An organized day calls for a calendar that suits your day-to-day. A great way to implement chalk in your workday is to create your own calendar. Do you have an important deadline or a movie date with someone special? Add it in! The best part of a chalk calendar is how flexible it is because we also know how quickly your schedule may change. With a damp towel, simply wipe away canceled or postponed plans and focus on the next!
There are two ways you can set up your calendar: weekly or monthly. To make a week-long calendar, draw out 7 rectangles in a row (or two, depending on the size of your chalkboard) with a brightly colored chalk. Feel free to add one more rectangle designated for reminders and general to-do lists.
To make a month-long calendar, start by drawing a large rectangle that takes up most of the chalkboard – just remember to leave enough space at the top to write out the month in fun calligraphy! Next, draw a 4x7 grid within the square. Write the days of the week at the top of each column. Once the days of the week are laid out, you’re ready to fill it in! After each month, just use a damp paper towel to wipe off the previous month and fill in the new day numbers.

Whether you need to pull inspiration from Pinterest or have a motto you always live by, find a quote that resonates with you.
