What is one Yoobi classroom item that you cannot live without?
My favorite Yoobi product is the document organizer! I seriously cannot live without it. It holds my iPad, grading papers, chargers, pens, and sticky notes.
What got you to start your platform?
I love incorporating video games into my classroom, and started sharing my resources with my team teachers at school. Other teachers began asking to use my resources and I thought creating a platform can help reach teachers across the globe! My platform became a place where I can share my classroom decor, resources, and my Etsy shop creations.
What is your favorite part about being a teacher?
My favorite part of being a teacher is the relationships you create with students. Teaching is a tough job that brings many challenges along the way, but you’ll get a handful of students each year that keep you going.
What drew you to Yoobi products?
When I was in elementary school, there were not a lot of school supplies to choose from. My favorite color is teal, but I remember having to settle for the standard blue shade for my binder and notebooks. Yoobi was the first company I saw that had teal, turquoise, coral, and all the vibrant colors. I was immediately drawn to Yoobi and using their products makes my inner child happy!
What is your favorite way to spend your free time?
My favorite way to spend my free time is to get an iced coffee, set up my laptop on the coffee table, and turn on my PS4. I’ll play one of my favorite games, Overwatch, and while I’m waiting for games to load, I’ll work on creating content for The Purrfect Pencil. When I need to take a break, I’ll take my puppy Sherpa on a walk around my apartment.
What has been your favorite grade to teach?
My favorite grade to teach has to be third! They are so loving but independent at the same time. I’ve changed grades each year and have taught 3rd, 6th, 5th, and 4th grade. After each year, I always miss my third graders!
