Solve the Problem: Inglewood Give

This back-to-school season, we’re giving back in an extra special way through the “Solve the Problem Initiative”. In collaboration with our non-profit partner, the Kids in Need Foundation, we have identified a few major cities to give back in a BIG way! Starting with Inglewood, California and Washington DC, Yoobi has provided free sets of school supplies for all qualifying K-5th grade classrooms in each school district.

In Inglewood, we donated 260 Classroom Packs to 7,800 students. The district-wide donation kicked off at Frank D. Parent Elementary School, where Inglewood native singer Becky G, Superintendent Dr. Vincent Matthews and Principal Garry Gregory joined Ido Leffler and the Yoobi staff in delivering Classroom Packs. Together, we visited classrooms to speak with teachers, students and parents about the impact school supplies have on the future success of students. This year, California districts had to fill 21,500 teaching positions, while the state typically issues fewer than 15,000 teaching credentials per year. Students were beyond excited to have Becky G joining in the Yoobi fun making it an extra special way to kick off the partnership with Inglewood Unified School District!

Yoobi visited Hendley Elementary School alongside Mayor Bowser earlier this month as well! In partnership with Washington DC Unified Schools, we were able to provide school supplies to 30,000 K-5 students in the D.C. area.

We’re looking forward to solving the problem one city at a time, until ALL kids have the tools they need to learn and be creative! Together we can!
