Yoobi Partners with Indigo and the Indigo Love of Reading Foundation for Canadian Launch
Vancouver, B.C. (June 25, 2018) – Yoobi, a creative supplies and stationery company with a social cause, launches in Canada via a partnership with Indigo and the Indigo Love of Reading Foundation. As of July 1st, Canadians can get their hands on Yoobi’s fun, colourful products available exclusively at Indigo stores across the country, just in time for back-to-school season. Pronounced “YOU-BE,” the brand aims to inspire people to be whoever they want to be and instill kids with the confidence to celebrate their own uniqueness.
Yoobi’s 2018 Back-to-School collection features over 80 colourful and fun designs inspired by on-trend tropical prints, creative doodles, dreamy unicorns, shimmering mermaids, and lots of sparkles. Collection favourites include the Iridescent Mermaid Tail Pencil Case, Palm Frond Document Organizer, Flamingo Pink Tropical Glitter Pen, Ice Pop Highlighters, and the Unicorn Binder Zip Case. The collection will also include an additional 42 core back-to-school items launching on August 1st. Ranging from notebooks to crayons, to stamps and stickers, these supplies have a strong DIY feel, encouraging kids to get creative and express their individuality. Yoobi products will be available in the Indigo Kids department at Indigo stores across Canada and online at www.indigo.ca.
Launched in the U.S.A. in 2014 and in Australia in 2015, Yoobi takes an innovative approach to home, school, and office supplies with its trendy, do-it-yourself products. Yoobi believes that school supplies should be available to every child in every classroom and teachers should not have to spend out of their pockets to make this happen. To address this issue, the company has adopted a “Buy One, Give One” model where, for every item purchased, another is donated to a child in need. To date, Yoobi has donated over 50 million school supplies reaching more than 3.5 million kids in the U.S.A. alone.
In keeping with its core mission, for every Yoobi item purchased at Indigo, a Yoobi school supply item will be donated to a classroom in need right here in Canada through its partnership with the Indigo Love of Reading Foundation. Dedicated to putting books in the hands of Canadian children and inspiring them to become engaged students, the Indigo Love of Reading Foundation is able to identify schools with limited access to fundamental school supplies. In support of the Foundation’s existing programs, Yoobi will provide school supplies in the form of a Yoobi Classroom Pack to high needs elementary schools in Canada. Each Classroom Pack includes 425 core learning tools and consists of pencils, glue sticks, rulers, folders, crayons, markers, and more – enough school supplies for 30 kids! With its Canadian launch, Yoobi aims to make a proportionally similar impact in Canada as it has in other markets.
“We are beyond excited to be launching in Canada. Our partnership with Indigo was a natural fit given our brands’ commitment to giving back and inspiring kids to help others in need,” said Ido Leffler, CEO and Co-Founder of Yoobi. “Our vision is to one day provide all kids in need with the tools to learn and be successful and launching in Canada brings us one step closer to achieving this goal.”
“The Indigo Love of Reading Foundation is committed to ensuring that children at Canadian high-needs elementary schools have access to books and educational resources that will inspire in them a love of reading,” said Ariel Siller, Executive Director of the Indigo Love of Reading Foundation. “We are excited to be partnering with Yoobi to have an even greater impact on children across Canada by providing them with school supplies that can further enhance their educational success.”
The Yoobi 2018 Back-to-School collection launches in Canada on July 1, 2018, exclusively at Indigo in-store and online at www.indigo.ca nationwide. Canadian kids and parents can feel proud to be giving back to Canadian children at high-needs elementary schools when they purchase Yoobi supplies this back-to-school season. With its launch, Yoobi hopes to spread the message of giving back and embracing what makes us unique to all Canadians, both young and old.
