Vision Board Supplies You’ll Need:
- Any kind of board, or a journal is a useful on-the-go medium
- A stack of magazines of your choice (we recommend a mix of fashion, travel, and hospitality)
- Scissors
- Glue, tape, or pins
- Markers or colored pencils
- Personal photos (optional)
- Stickers (optional)
Do Your Research
Make a list of all the places that are on your travel bucket list. Don’t overthink it – simply list the top 5 destinations that come to mind. From there, identify if there’s a common theme amongst the listed places. For example, if your dream destinations are all by the coast in a tropical climate, then you have your theme! If your list is more sporadic, then prioritize which destination is mandatory for you to visit first.
Get Crafty
Here comes the fun part! Grab a pile of magazines, photos, and craft supplies to deck out your vision board. Start by finding images from travel magazines that align with your travel destinations and use glue to paste them on your display. Make your vision board extra by affixing encouraging phrases and use stickers to give your display a little more pizzazz.
Show it Off!
Keep your travel vision in front of you and get in the habit of looking and thinking about your destination daily. Hang your vision board on a wall that you face when you first wake up in the morning or bookmark the journal page that lays out your collage. Whatever you do, make it your own process! You can scan your vision board and digitalize it so that it can be shareable with your friends or family. Sometimes achieving goals is better with a support group, so rely on your loved ones to help you get there!
