HAPPY NEW YEAR! Here's a Look Back at 2017

As 2018 approaches, Yoobi would like to reflect and recognize all the special accomplishments our fans have helped us achieve this year. From Yoobi's largest single-activation in give history to sending supply sets to almost 200K kids impacted by the storms in Texas to Puerto Rico, Yoobi is bringing color, creativity, hope, and heart to classrooms across the US. Here's a quick look back on an incredible year.

1. Hiya, Coral!

We introduced a brand new Yoobi color at the beginning of the year: CORAL! We LOVE listening to every one of our Yoobi fans' feedback and decided to create a collection of fun stuff with everyone's favorite 2017 color.

2. It's Morphin' Time

In March, we teamed up with the Power Rangers to deliver awesome school supplies to 116th Street Elementary in South Los Angeles. After hosting a jaw-dropping assembly, the Rangers went into classrooms to open Yoobi Classroom Packs with the kids and explained how there is a hero inside of each and every one of them.

3. Teacher Appreciation Month

Teacher Appreciation Month was extra special this year as Yoobi joined forces with GoFundMe on their "We Love Teachers” $100,000 fundraising contest to help reduce out-of-pocket expenses for teachers. We surprised Ms. Jade Aposhian – a 1st-grade teacher at Arts in Action Elementary with a $1,000 check from GoFundMe and Yoobi school supplies for more than 400 students across the school!

4. Our Biggest Back To School Yet!

This back to school season was our biggest release in company history. With over 150 new products, there was something for every kiddo in any grade. From our cute panda collection to the beloved Yoobi Awesome items, we had so much fun seeing all the positive feedback with our new releases IRL and on social media!

Yoobi threw a back to school summer bash with our good friend, Lizzie Darden. It was truly an eruption of balloons, doughnuts, denim, and all things pink! We also had so much fun on set with the Lewis triplets on Sweety High as they DIYed their own Yoobi supplies and ran a huge giveaway for their fans. Finally, we capped off the end of back to school season with a super sweet meet-and-greet with Liane V. at Afters Ice Cream in Pasadena!

5. Classroom Pack 2.0

This year, we released a new edition of the Yoobi Classroom Packs filled with the same goodies with a few key improvements. In an effort to reduce waste and messiness, we listened and learned that with small tweaks in quantity or item type, we could make a BIG difference in our impact on kids.

6. International Walk to School Day with Mayor Garcetti

In October, Yoobi made its largest single activation donation to LAUSD, providing enough school supplies to support over 100,000 kids at high need elementary schools throughout the city while celebrating International Walk to School Day with Mayor Garcetti. We love giving back to our local community and look forward to continuing our work with the district to ensure our supplies get into the hands of the kids who need them most.

7. Reaching a New Milestone

Yoobi hit an incredible milestone of having donated school supplies to over 3 MILLION KIDS since we launched in 2014! This is one of our biggest highlights of 2017 and it's all thanks to our Yoobi fans! With your support, you have helped us make learning tools accessible to 3 million kiddos. A big Toucan hug from us to you!

8. Disaster Relief with Kids In Need

This year, we witnessed unprecedented weather events across the U.S. Yoobi, supporting of KINF's Second Responder program, sent school supplies to almost 200K kids impacted by the storms in Texas to Puerto Rico, activating the largest post-disaster donation effort in our company's history.

In Texas: Yoobi has donated almost 1.9 million school supplies to over 135,000 students across Texas, supporting more than 4,500 classrooms and teachers that were impacted by Harvey.

In Florida: Since the beginning of the school year, Yoobi sent school supplies to over 55,000 high-need students and those seeking refuge.

In Sonoma: Yoobi teamed up with the Harvest Summit, the Ronnie Lott Foundation, and Audi, to provide 400 backpacks and supply bundles to elementary students who had lost their homes or schools.

9. #WhoWillYoobi

This #GivingTuesday a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media, Yoobi released a brand new video to inspire the next generation of leaders and ensure that all kids have the tools they need to follow their dreams. Because it’s more than what job you’ll have when you grow up, it’s about who you’ll be.

We asked our fans to ask their communities #WhoWillYoobi by sharing our awesome video, and we have a lot of gratitude to give. Thank YOU for helping us donate 25,000 school items to kids in need in the U.S.! With each view and share, we have furthered our goal to make sure all kids have the tools they need to succeed.

Cheers to an amazing 2017!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
